Applying for a Nigerian Standard Passport

Loss of Passport

It is important to note that the machine readable equipment for Passports are supplied and serviced by the Nigerian Immigration Service and not produced by Nigerian Missions abroad.

Requirements for New Passport:

  • A Bank Draft or Money Order of A$91.00 per applicant (must have applicants name at the back)
  • Old passport
  • Applicant will have to present themselves in person at the High Commission

Loss of Passport

Lost passports attract a non-refundable processing fee of $200.00 per passport. In addition applications for lost passports will now be referred to Abuja for clearance. Lost passports will only be replaced after clearance from Abuja in addition to the payment of the non refundable processing fee of $91:00 per passport.

In addition to the fee, you will have to provide the following:

    1) Letter to Immigration reporting the lost passport giving details of the passport:
    • - date of lost
    • - manner of lost
    • - place of lost
    • - details of passports to include
    • - passport number
    • - place of issue
    • - date of issue

    2) Enclose the following documents to support 1) above:

    • - extract of police report about the lost;
    • - sworn court affidavit on the lost;
    • - photocopies of the passport (if one had been made earlier)
