Launching; Nigerians In Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Australia, Sat Feb. 18, 2006, Sydney N.S.W. I am directed to inform you that, arrangements are being made to, formally, launch NIDO Australia, chapter in Sydney NSW, on a Sat 18th Feb. 2006. As you might be aware, NIDO is an offshoot of the Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS), which was established by the Federal Government as a response to the needs and desires of Nigerians in Diaspora to participate in nation building. It is pertinent to mention that NIDO in USA, Canada, and the other countries in Western Europe are already making their marks by participating and contributing actively and positively in the various development programmes of the Federal Government of Nigeria since inception. Consequently, I am to solicit your co-operation to make the launching and indeed the entire programme in Australia a success. In order to, further, assist the Mission to make adequate provisions for hosting the event, you are requested to kindly give us a feedback on whether you would be able to attend or not. A detailed programme for the occasion will be made available in due course. Enclosed herewith is a copy of our earlier correspondence on the establishment of the NNVS scheme for the benefit of those who did not receive it initially.
