Nigerian High Commission Canberra Australia is the gateway to the ECOWAS Sub-Region

The new ECOWAS passports are not available from Canberra at this point in time

Members of the Nigerian Community in Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Fiji and Vanuatu are hereby informed that the Federal Government has approved the extension of validity of the Machine Readable Passport (MRP)till further notice.

In other words, the replacement of the old MRP with the new e-passport will continue while the former will remain valid for travel and other purposes until further notice.

All Travel Agents, Airlines and Diplomatic and Consular Missions in Australia are therefore being requested to please continue to accord due recognition to the old MRP's validly held by Nigerians.
